Things to keep in mind
  1. Flash- Pro action shooters use powerful high-end electronic flash units, because that's what's needed to light subjects at typical action-shooting distances
  2. Equipment- To photograph action like a pro, you need an SLR camera and a long lens
  3. Focusing on Action Subjects

http://www.steephill.tv/photography/action-photography-tips.html

  • Car moving- I would shot the photo outside and use bright lighting for my photo because It can focus on the car, and I would blur the background.
  • Person jumping- I would shot photo in the gym while person is moving with subject or something. I would set the camera below. I would shoot as many photos as possible.
  • Person running-  While the person is running or moving. I would pan the camera so that person is in focus, but I want the background is blurry.

Does my action photo show faces/emotion?
Yes, my action photo shows a person doing weight trainning.
Does it show the ball/equipment being used?
Yes, it shows weight was pushed up.
Does it show people moving or do they just look like they are standing around?
Yes, it shows his arms pushing up with a heavy weight.
Does it have good lighting?
Yes, the lighting is good enough to see the action movement.
Is it cropped to help focus on the subject in motion?
Yes, it is. You can see the action at his arms that was a little moving.
Is it focused or is it very blurry?
It is a little blurry but we can still see the action.
One of the strenghts in my action photo was....
It capturing his face while he was pushing up the weight.
One of the challenges for my action photo was...
My action photo has a little blurry because his arms was moving.
In the future, I would overcome the above challenge by ...
Trying to pan the camera below and focus on the main subject that are moving.

There are all my progressive plant photos that I took since October 17 to October 28. They shows the transition of seasons by changing color of there leaf everyday. The most picture that I like most is the picture on October 26. I used the rule of thirds of principles of composition, and I like the color of that picture, which is the best lighting. You can see some trees in background that still have green leaf but my focus is on the tree in the front that has already change its color.

To be honest I think UofM is going to win the game this weekend.

Macro Photography

In macro photography, a sharp image of a tiny object requires the lens to be positioned much closer still, with the lens moved even further out than for normal photography. To take a Macro Photography, Photographer zooms into a picture so they got a lot of detail more than normal picture. To shoot macro in the days of film — aside from the requirement of using an SLR camera.

3 things to keep in mind when shooting macro photography
  1. Viewing- use the LCD screen for viewing
  2. No Confusion- Take care to position your macro subject against an appropriate background
  3. Lighting- Set up the camera only centimetres from the subject

5 other subjects I want to explore using macro photography
  1. Sand
  2. Water
  3. Eyes
  4. Leaf
  5. Sea
This picture is a good example of macro photography because photography focus on the eye that is a main focus by used a depth of field. This picture covers eyelash, background, camera, and photographer. The lighting of this picture is also good in the human's eye. The color of this picture is bright and colorful.

This picture is my great example of macro photography. I used depth of field and I focused into the raindrops on the grass background. The lighting of picture is good so we can see the raindrops which is very small in general.

Alternative Angles

Above
In a high angle, the camera is above the subject, looking down. This position makes characters look weak, submissive, or frightened.
Below
Low angles are captured from a camera placed below the actor’s eyes, looking up at them. Low angles make characters look dominant, aggressive, or ominous.
Straight
An eyelevel angle is the one in which the camera is placed at the subject’s height, so if the actor is looking at the lens, he wouldn’t have to look up or down. Eyelevel shots are incredibly common because they are neutral. They often have no dramatic power whatsoever, thus they are ideal for romantic comedies and news casting.
Tilted
Also called canted angle, a Dutch tilt has the camera leaning sideways, transforming the horizon into a slope. A Dutch tilt changes horizontal and vertical lines into diagonals and creates a more dynamic composition. Though rare, canted angles can be employed with great artistic effect to disorient and disturb the viewer.

Photographer used the below angle to created this picture. He set the camera below so he got a picture that show the top site of the trees. This angle shows the picture bigger and taller than real tree and he got the sky background because he set a camera lower.

Photographer uesd the above angle to created this photo by setting the camera above the head of little boy. He got a photo of these boy that looks bigger head and longer arms than his real. He can get all body of this little boy by taking a picture from the top.
This is my favorite photo. I used the above angle to created this picture. I set the camera above the tree and I got this picture, which covers the tree and the ground that have many leaf.

Shadows and Light

I saw the shadow of two girls on the wall. I guess this place is a way from the subway station or some place underground. Those two girls are climbing up the stairs. It seems like they are in hurry. I think this picture is bright and photographer used the light of from the sun source.

I saw the shadow of the girl and the imposing gate. Photographer took this picture while the girl was walking. I like the mood of this girl. She looks awesome. This picture was taken outdoor and I think photographer took this photo by setting the camera on the ground. And I think he used the light from the sun source.

I took this photo in the art room. This picture showed the flower and my hand's shadow in the white background. I used the light from spotlight that lighten directly to my hand and the flower. I used the white board for background. I used the flower to be my prop because I like it. It looks so beautiful.
